# MCPVP Cloud Queue

What MCPVP is, how Cloud Queue works, and how PvPTiers connects players into MCPVP competitive matches.

PvPTiers is the **pilot Minecraft server experience for MCPVP Cloud Queue**.

Cloud Queue lets you begin a competitive MCPVP matchmaking session from PvPTiers, play the match on MCPVP infrastructure, and then return to PvPTiers when the match is finished.

This means PvPTiers can provide its own casual modes — FFA, Royale, SMP, Casual Duels and more — while also acting as an entry point into MCPVP's wider competitive PvP ecosystem.

## What is MCPVP?

**MCPVP** is a broader competitive Minecraft PvP platform rather than a traditional minigame server.

Its goals include:

* a mostly automated modern Tier List;
* cross-server competitive matchmaking;
* verified competitive matches;
* geographically distributed match servers;
* tournaments, challenges and competitive events;
* a ranking system based on more than raw matchmaking rating.

MCPVP is designed to connect participating Minecraft servers rather than replace them.

PvPTiers is one of the first places players can use this system through Cloud Queue.

## What is Cloud Queue?

Cloud Queue allows players on different connected Minecraft servers to enter the **same MCPVP matchmaking pool**.

For example, one player can begin their queue while on PvPTiers while another player can eventually queue from a different connected server.

When MCPVP finds a match:

1. both players are temporarily transferred away from their original servers;
2. MCPVP places the match on a verified temporary duel server;
3. the match server is selected to provide a strong connection for both players where possible;
4. the duel is played under MCPVP's competitive environment;
5. once the match ends, each player is returned to the Minecraft server they came from.

From the player's perspective, PvPTiers remains their home server before and after the MCPVP match.

## PvPTiers' role

PvPTiers is not replacing MCPVP and MCPVP is not replacing PvPTiers.

They serve different purposes:

### PvPTiers

PvPTiers provides the broader Minecraft server experience:

* FFA
* Guilds
* Casual Duels
* Royale
* SMP
* network XP and Coins
* other casual and progression-driven content

### MCPVP

MCPVP provides the shared competitive layer:

* matchmaking;
* ranked PvP;
* Tier List progression;
* competitive match verification;
* cross-server opponents;
* tournaments and challenges.

PvPTiers is the **pilot server for using the Cloud Queue experience**, giving players access to MCPVP competition without needing to leave the PvPTiers ecosystem manually.

## A Cloud Queue match

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Start on PvPTiers

Play PvPTiers normally and open the MCPVP Cloud Queue entry point when you want a competitive match.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Enter MCPVP matchmaking

Your queue request joins MCPVP's shared matchmaking system rather than a PvPTiers-only opponent pool.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### A match is found

MCPVP selects an opponent and a suitable verified match server.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Temporary transfer

You are moved to the MCPVP match server for the duel.

The transfer is temporary; you have not permanently left PvPTiers.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Play the competitive match

The match result is handled by MCPVP and contributes to MCPVP's competitive systems where applicable.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Return to PvPTiers

After the match, you are transferred back to the server you originally queued from.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## Why temporary MCPVP match servers?

A temporary verified match server lets MCPVP:

* control competitive match conditions;
* verify the integrity of the result;
* choose a useful geographic location between opponents;
* reduce large ping differences where possible;
* give players from different servers one shared competitive environment.

MCPVP has been designed around distributed server locations across multiple regions rather than a single central duel server.

## Cross-server competition

Cloud Queue is built so participating servers share one competitive player ecosystem.

That means:

* your opponent does not necessarily have to be playing on PvPTiers;
* a player can represent the server they queued from during a cross-server MCPVP match;
* connected servers can contribute players to the same matchmaking system;
* PvPTiers players can access a much broader opponent pool than a PvPTiers-only ranked queue.

## MCPVP ranking

MCPVP's ranking system is designed to use more than a single visible matchmaking-rating number.

Competitive standing can consider factors including:

* tournament results;
* challenge results;
* head-to-head results;
* quality of opponents;
* distribution of opponents;
* in-duel competitive results.

The objective is to rank players based on a wider competitive record rather than only who they happen to match up well against.

## MCPVP Tier information on PvPTiers

Some PvPTiers systems can use MCPVP standing as an eligibility or identity signal.

For example, the documented FFA **Rivals Arena** is intended for players who are **Tier 3+ in MCPVP for that mode**.

MCPVP ranking and PvPTiers network progression are different systems:

* **MCPVP Tier / ranking** measures competitive MCPVP standing;
* **PvPTiers XP / Levels / Coins** are network progression used across PvPTiers.

See [XP & Coins](/xp-and-coins.md) for PvPTiers progression.

## Casual PvPTiers rules vs MCPVP rules

{% hint style="warning" %}
The PvPTiers [Server Rules](/server-rules.md) are the rules for **casual PvPTiers modes**. They are **not** the complete ruleset for MCPVP competitive play.
{% endhint %}

When you enter an MCPVP match through Cloud Queue, MCPVP's own competitive rules, match integrity systems, and eligibility requirements apply.

## Troubleshooting

### I queued but did not enter a match

Matchmaking depends on available opponents and MCPVP queue conditions. Remain connected and follow the queue information shown in-game.

### I was transferred away from PvPTiers

That is expected when a Cloud Queue match starts. The MCPVP duel server is temporary and you should be returned to your original server after the match finishes.

### I disconnected during a Cloud Queue match

Reconnect normally. If the result or return transfer appears incorrect, use [MCPVP Support](https://www.mcpvp.com/support) for MCPVP-specific issues.

### I need help with MCPVP

Use the [official MCPVP support system](https://www.mcpvp.com/support) for MCPVP account, punishment, report, bug, or competitive-system issues.

Use PvPTiers [Support](/support.md) only when the problem is specifically with PvPTiers itself or with entering Cloud Queue from the PvPTiers server.
